Singapore, O muse: Mythological puzzler MUJO in soft-launch for iOS

What a wonderful underworld.

What a wonderful underworld.

PG‘s tireless indie games automaton Chris Priestman dug up an interesting artefact the other day: MUJO, the first iOS game from renowned Japanese board game and puzzle publishers Oink. I’d had Oink’s mobile debut on my radar after Canabalt creator Adam Saltsman buzzed about it on Twitter. I can’t find the specific tweet right now because Saltsman tweets a lot and it’s Monday morning, so lay off, jeez.

MUJO is a match-3 puzzler where you control the Greek Olympian gods in battles against mythical monsters like the famously-coiffed Medusa and future fashion accessory Nemean Lion. Having an ancient Mediterranean theme isn’t enough to get good marks from us but it sure helps. Priestman has a good description of MUJO’s gameplay over at Pocket Gamer.

Priestman tells us that MUJO is in soft-launch in New Zealand and Singapore right now, so if you’re in those markets (or are willing to mesmerize your phone into believing you are) you can buy the game right now. I’ll let you know when this one lands on more shores.
