Niantic Labs has partnered with Starbucks to turn its stores into PokeStops and Gyms for Pokemon GOplayers.

Over 7,800 Starbucks locations around the US will be used as Pokemon GO locations to entice players in. Inside they will also find a new Pokemon GO-themed Frappuccino available to order.

"Starbucks has played an important role in creating welcoming places for people to come together for refreshment and social engagement," Niantic CEO John Hanke said.

"The physical locations component of the collaboration is important to us as we look for ways to use technology to encourage exploration, exercise and real world social interaction, and Starbucks' footprint throughout the US provides an awesome platform."

More to come

Niantic is also partnering with mobile carrier Sprint to make over 10,500 of its stores PokeStops in the US. The deals come as the developer is currently teasing a huge update which will add more Pokemon to catch.

Pokemon GO has had a strong 2016, winning two awards at The __game Awards 2016 for Best Mobile Game and Best Family Game. It was snubbed by Apple, which gave its Best iPhone Game award to Supercell's Clash Royale.
