Now let’s see if we can get West the Cannonball Run license.
Though it’s been in development for a year, we didn’t take notice of Christian West’s glossy open-wheel racing simulator Motorsport Manager until June — and just as well. The wait would have been unbearable if we’d known about it earlier. West pinged us a note last night to say that Motorsport Manager will be out on iOS this Wednesday night.
As I said in my hands-on preview from last month, this isn’t a massively deep sim on the order of the PC sims of the 1990s, but for fans of auto racing, Motorsport Manager is a delightful treat made by someone who clearly loves the sport as much as you do. West had originally planned to ship the game in late July but he decided to take a little time to apply another coat of polish. Motorsport Manager is the former Hello Games developer’s first project as a solo shop, and he wanted that first impression to be a memorable one, no doubt.
Read my hands-on preview from July and check out the trailer after the break. Motorsport Manager will be a $5 iOS Universal app with no IAPs or any tomfoolery like that.
